SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES FOR GIRL SCOUTS AGE 11 AND UP
Calling all Girl Scouts ages 11 and up... WE NEED YOU!! Being an older Girl Scout includes having fun and serving others, and we have plenty of opportunities for you to do both at the same time! Both Troops and Juliettes are welcome. We really appreciate the contributions of each and every one of our volunteers!
Being a volunteer at an Elam Center program means...
- Having Fun
- Earning Service Hours
- Being a role model to younger Girl Scouts
- Earning an Elam Volunteer Patch
- Making an extremely valuable contribution... many programs wouldn't happen without older Girl Scouts!
Halloween Haunt Volunteers Age 11 and Up
Saturday October 25, 2008
We need lots of spooky spirited volunteers to put on our biggest program of the year. Volunteers need to dress in their favorite costumes (and very warm for the weather!) to work at various stations with the Brownies. Games, crafts, stories, face painting, the midnight maze and fear factor are just a few of the fun stations!
This opportunity is a lot of work but also a lot of fun. Dinner will be provided for all volunteers. All volunteers will get an Elam volunteer patch.

Pop Princess Fairy Tale Ball Volunteers
Friday December 12, 2008 and Saturday, December 13, 2008
Hear Ye! Hear Ye!
All Girl Scouts 11 years old and older!
Your volunteer assistance is requested by his royal highness Prince Charming to help present a special event for Brownie Girl Scouts called the Pop Princess Fairy Tale Ball.
The event will be an exciting evening that fuses the science of fantasy with the electricity of pop culture. Volunteers need to arrive 1 hour and 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. All girls are invited to dress in their finest fairy or pop princess attire with all the glam and matching accessories. The event will feature a Pampered Princess Lounge where our volunteers (as ladies in waiting) will treat our little divas like stars while they sample and learn about natural beauty products from the Enchanted Forest. Volunteers will also help the girls solve the mystery of the missing princess with modern day detective tools; make their own jewelry and much more! Before the stroke of midnight, the ball will conclude when the princesses let down their hair and dance the night away to great music.
There is no cost for the event for volunteers. Pizza and drinks will be provided. We need 30-40 girls for the event. This is a great chance for some fun service hours! All volunteers will get an Elam volunteer patch.

TerraFest Masquerade Volunteers
Saturday, February 21 2009
We need your help to make the Elam Center’s newest winter production a smashing success!
Girl Scout volunteers 11 years and older are needed to work at stations during our TerraFest Masquerade (Think Halloween and Mardi Gras meets Earth Day and the Pop Princess Ball). Volunteers will help Brownies explore the world and uncover the secrets of the blue planet while rock and rolling with today’s hottest music. Volunteers will help teach younger scouts about important places in the world like the Galapagos Islands, the Amazon rainforest, and the Great Barrier Reef.
Volunteers must have a love of wildlife, music, fun and dancing. There will be face painting, arts and crafts, games, music, dancing, snacks and drinks during this all out celebration in appreciation of our home planet. Come dressed in your most festive attire and prepare for a program like no other. Volunteers will be provided with pizza, pop and their own masquerade masks. All volunteers will get an Elam volunteer patch

Registration and Cancellation Information
Please either use the Elam program registration form or contact the Elam Center directly at (614) 878-1382 to register. Placement letters and confirmations will be sent with directions to the center. Please sign and return one of the program confirmations you receive (it looks like an invoice), even though there is no cost for volunteers or their accompanying adults. This lets us know you plan to attend.
If your troop or individual need to cancel, please give us as much notice as possible. Since volunteers are so needed, we generally will attempt to get replacements in the event someone cancels. Many of these events have a waiting list, so please give us enough notice to contact those individuals or troops. We really appreciate it.
Questions? Contact Grant Lewis at the Elam Center at 614-878-1382.
