All Girl Scout Elam Chili Cook-Off
Get out to the new and improved Chili Cook-Off! This year’s cook-off will partner with Operation Feed, a program of Mid-Ohio Food Bank. We ask that all contestants bring a canned or non-perishable (pasta, rice, etc…) food item for donation. So, this year teams can have a great time and make a difference in their community.
The Chili Cook-Off requires girls to come up with an original main dish recipe of their choice in a crock pot or slow cooker using any form of chili peppers. Sorry - NO classic chili dishes allowed in 2009! You know... the soup everyone thinks of when you hear the work "chili"! That means the sky is the limit for this year’s crock pot creation! Get creative and try pasta, rice, or another soup type dish of your making. Competitors are also required to make an original cookie to go with their main dish. Also, all entrants must choose a theme for their main dish and then create an original recipe. The main dish and cookie are to be prepared ahead of time and brought to the Elam Center for judging. Judging will be based on taste, presentation, table design and creative use of chilies. Remember to set aside enough time ahead of time to experiment with different recipes.
2009 will offer prizes, games, music and fun, so sign up early!
