Each established unit is located in a natural setting and has its own kitchen shelter, latrine and water spigot for city water. Each unit has a name: Woodlands, Lumberjack, Dogwood, Wildood, Shawnee, and Pioneer.
Campers live in the established units in groups of 8 to 24. The girls sleep on cots with mattresses in platform tents or cabins that accommodate four campers each.
Camp counselors for each unit share a tent in the center of the tent cluster separate from, but near, the girls. Counselors are all at least 18 years of age, except a few 17-year-old Junior Counselors who have completed 2 years of our CIT program, and come from diverse backgrounds all over the globe. Each staff member is carefully screened, and must pass a Criminal Background Check prior to employment. Most staff members are college students studying Education, Child Psychology, or Recreation.
