of Ohio Welcomes New
CEO

The Board of Directors recently selected Tammy Wharton to
lead Girl Scouts - Seal of Ohio Council into the future of Girl
Scouting. Tammy returns to Seal of Ohio after a successful tenure as
Executive Director of the Columbus Literacy Council. From 2001 to 2005,
she served as Seal of Ohio Council’s Director of Development.
Tammy’s extensive knowledge of the Council and of Girl
Scouting, coupled with her strength in organizational development,
strategic planning and financial management, will help energize the
organization during its upcoming alignment with Heart of Ohio and
Heritage Trails Girl Scout Councils.
Tammy is a strong leader with the proven ability to build
successful collaborations and positive relationships. She is respected
in the community as evidenced by her recognition in 2002 through
Business First’s 40 Under Forty award. Tammy received her undergraduate
degree in communications from The Ohio State University and earned her
Master of Science in Human Services from Capella University with a
specialization in non-profit management.
By
engaging in Seal of Ohio’s most critical issues, Tammy will forward the
Girl Scout mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and
character, who make the world a better
place.
